Where: 5713 Hopkins Road, Meadowbrook Plaza Phone: (804) 275-9030 Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday Cuisine: Mexican Check for two: $28.83 (including tip) Entree prices: $5.50-$10.50 Taste: My sister and I went for lunch. We both love Mexican food, so we were eager to try this place. I ordered the Arroz con Mariscos, which is made with grilled shrimp and scallops. I asked if I could get it with just the scallops, and they accommodated my request. The scallops were plentiful and large and served over a bed of Mexican white rice, covered with melted cheese and ranchero sauce. This dish was excellent! My sister ordered the Steak a la Mexicana. It is a thin T-bone grilled to perfection with a lot of onions and served with rice, beans and tortillas. She said it was delicious. Guacamole salad and sour cream come on the side of each entree. Service: Excellent! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Ambience: This restaurant is very clean and is decorated with sombreros and Mexican pottery and art. It's fairly big with booths but is very cozy. Would you go back?: Definitely. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Under 30 offers reviews of restaurants where two can eat for less than $30. |
